"Grindintosecond" (Grindintosecond)

Budget Luxury. Bluxury. (Note: I'm not calling this Bulls**t Luxury) Is there such a thing? Can almost but not quite still be luxurious? This is the Interior of the new Kia Sedona mini-van, with options. It looks very nice and I am continuously impressed with the Hyundai group's progress and design. But look closely, it will still look cheap in ten years. Like a 2001 Camry with leather seats, that dash will be called cheap plastic after one owner cycle. Perhaps I don't know what i'm talking about, again, but I see these very nice designs and then I see ten years down the line and see old and cheap plastic bits for interior instead of something still good over time. I like what they're doing overall but are the plastic Bluxury bits holding up?
[EDIT: the grey blah picture showed up in a 2015 search, as pointed out by a commenter, that was not accurate. It is aparently from 2012. The additional proper 2015 pic is added to the top.]

I just fell into an extreme depression after seeing all that grey. I can't judge how nice the interior actually is. Every surface is grey. It's like being inside a rain cloud.

That is infinitely better. I believe the one you originally posted is the meh one from a 2006 Sedona:
The new one is a fantastic interior.

I think this will age pretty well. The pic in the OP isn't that far above a base model, those have always been pretty terrible.
EDIT: And actually now that I think about it, are you sure the first pic is of the new Sedona? It looks different. Kia has been putting the fancier steering wheel in most things lately IIRC, and the center console in the second picture isn't even close to the same as the first.

Are you sure that's from the new Sedona? This is from the new 2015 Sedona.
but I'm actually a big fan of this new Faux luxury interiors. I can't afford the real thing but I still like my cars to feel nice and be a pleasant place to be.
It's no Mercedes S class.
But it's still worlds better than a see of cloth and hard plastic.

It's also from a previous gen (and not so good) sedona.

We had one of these come in to get a DVD player (apparently the only option it didn't have) and it was far nicer than most minivans I've experienced. And all for $3000 less than an Odyssey EX-L

Right as "Fancy" started playing off my co-workers computer....
Bluxury? I'm not really so sure that'll work quite so well.
How about just "nice cars." It doesn't imply any pre-existing conditions, nor does it exempt anything else.

Plastic doesn't bother me, but a sea of grey plastic bothers me. Luxury is as much about feel and look as it is about fit and finish. Will the entire interior squeak like my dogs toys after a year? Will it rattle like an infants toys after a year?
Look at an E46 interior, there is a lot of plastic in there but it's so well done and put together that nobody says "Man look at all that nasty plastic on the dashboard!".

Is a low-to-no budget British actor a Blimey? Inquiring minds want to know. If one is well respected in those roles, is he a Core Blimey?

Worse, there are like a dozen minute variations of the same grey.

Well, nice is...nice. Luxurious is nicer than nice. Theres driving in supportive seats and then there's driving in a seat made out of soothing Lotion. somewhere in the middle there is where I'm going. Its above board but not top shelf.

"Method Limey" would actually be a good name for a post-punk influenced electronic band.
( Anyway... )

This steering wheel is a dead giveaway at cheapness. They couldn't make the center any classier looking?! Shame, because the rest looks pretty nice!

This is a great picture to show how far Kia has come in just 2 years of design, bravo.

Glossy black plastic =/= Luxury. That just looks like there interior of something costing roughly $30k.
